..has been baking quality bakery products for over 91 years. Located in Lakeland, Florida, we have a 250,000 square foot facility owned by C&G Holdings Company of Chicago and operated under the name of Southern Bakeries, Inc. We bake and distribute products under the Country Hearth, Rich Harvest Premium Bread, Sunbeam, and various other labels throughout Florida.
Publix Super Markets with over 900 stores has been a major customer of ours in both name brand and private label bread products for over thirty five years. In addition, we serve 7-11 Convenience Stores and Save-A-Lot Supermarkets all over Florida. Just a few of the major restaurant chain customers that we serve includes Bob Evans, Denny's and institutional accounts, such as Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Our commitment to excellence is unwavering. In September of 1996, we added a thirteen million dollar bread line capable of producing 200 loaves per minute. Eighteen months prior to this Butterkrust added a 1,000 cuts per minute bun line. As members of Quality Bakers of America, and the American Bakers Association, we are inspected four times annually and have consistently scored excellent in the areas of sanitation and product quality. We are regularly upgrading and modernizing our equipment to improve efficiency as evidenced by our state of the art automated in-floor conveyor system in the Shipping Department. Our great concern for employee safety has produced some of the longest accident free time periods in the company’s history. As a member of the community our Company supports many charitable organizations that include Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, Boy Scouts of America, Camp Fire USA and are in the top 25 United Way givers for Lakeland. Butterkrust is continually looking to the future for ways of improving customer service in all phases of our operation. This is our constant commitment to our customers.
